Lakota Stallions Additional Insight:

Coaches train to develop winners on and off the field
Lakota Stallion coaches attend a SportsLeader workshop to gain support and networking tools to develop winners on and off the field. This program offered effective support for fostering virtues in their athletes in order to accomplish their overall goal to "Transform boys to men beyond the goal line." All Stallion coaches will eventually be provided this beneficial training.

Character Building
Each practice includes a ten minute break-out session for each grade-level team on character building & Christian values. Parent volunteers are actively involved in teaching character traits & Christian values to all players and cheerleaders. A different character trait or Christian value is emphasized each week at practice. Football and cheerleading both present wonderful educational opportunities to teach kids about the importance of character.

Cheer
Cheerleading is an important part of the Stallions experience. Cheerleaders encourage players to compete and strive for excellence. Enthusiasm is contagious and our young ladies bring excitement and a special spirit to each and every game. Thank heaven for little girls!

Practice Grade 3 and 4
Coaches work closely with each player, encouraging them to reach their full potential. Each player works on fundamental football skills, positions, formations and plays. Both offensive and defensive skills are taught and practiced. All boys have the opportunity to play in the games. Practices are well organized, efficient and packed full of drills, repetitions and scrimmages to maximize the time. Practices are scheduled to take place three times a week in the summer and twice a week once the school year has started in order to promote our youngsters’ academic achievement at school and not interfere with homework or school events.

Prayer
Christian principles form the foundation of the Stallions organization. Each game and practice begins with a team prayer. The guidance and unity this provides acts as fuel for not only the play of the game but the edification of young hearts and minds. It regularly reminds each of our athletes that they are a part of something larger than themselves.

K, 1 and 2 Practice
Our Stallions coaching staff guide and direct each player to achieve his fullest potential on the field. Coaches focus on building relationships as they teach football skills. Every child is important to the success of the team. Accordingly, it is our intent that no child be turned away from Stallions football. There are scholarships are available for the young athletes of qualifying families facing financial hardship that might otherwise prohibit their youngster from becoming a Stallion or Stallion cheerleader.
