November 12, 2007: Every player is GUARANTEED to start and play either offense or defense for the entire game ...

In an effort to improve and minister to as many boys and girls as possible, the Stallions will offer more playing time than any other organization. Even though we offer more guaranteed playing time than any other organization, 3-8 plays a game is still not enough. This is about 5% - 8% of the game.

Starting with the 2008 Season ALL the Stallion principles and values and rules stay in place, PLUS EVERY PLAYER IS GUARANTEED TO START and play either offense or defense for the entire game. This will attract many more families, so if you haven't registered for 2008 yet, please do so.

This will be within the newly formed and only Christian league in the area called "National Christian Youth Football League" (NCYFL) and "National Christian Youth Cheerleading" (NCYC).

Thinking is that there will be at least 4 teams in each of the grades Kindergarten thru 8th grade and we will play each other plus other communities.

Maximum players on a team is 18-20 and 18 is encouraged. Each team must start all players. Every team must be a Sportsleader member and require FBI checks for coaches. Each team must have coaches, parents, and player contracts signed before the season starts and maintain the "Team Book". Others words following the procedures the Stallions follow now.

PLEASE PASS THE WORD TO ALL YOU THINK WOULD BENEFIT FROM THE STALLION VALUES.

Games more competitive, more coaching and the Stallion ministry values are passed on to many more families so lives can be enhanced.

REGISTRATION Packet

The expectation is that the Stallion could double with this combination of Christian values and this expanded guarantee playing time. The community has been looking for WHAT WE OFFER. Evidence of that was the 3 times growth last year.

The registration fee thru Feb. 2nd 2008 is $110
Feb. 3rd 2008 thru April 5th 2008 is $130 After April 6th 2008 is $150

The Stallions will offer a big family discount maximums starting with the 3rd child.

Liberty Township football league registering for second season

In large school districts, sports leagues are often based on competition and skill, says West Chester resident Ron Jennings. But what about the kids who aren't the best of the best?

The Lakota Stallions Youth Football and Cheerleading Organization, which Jennings founded two years ago, may be the answer, he said.

The Christian-based league is registering players for the 2007 season, and Jennings said he anticipates the league doubling in numbers this year. In 2006, the league attracted 100 players and this year, more than 182 players have already signed up, Jennings said.

The league revolves around Christian values and each practice includes what Jennings calls a "power virtue talk". Every child has a coach that acts as a mentor as well.

"We have a national disaster on our hands, our boys are not being men," Jennings said.

But Jennings hopes to help teach the boys — and girls — compassion, hard work and cooperation on the football field, he said. The league won't turn away any child who wants to play.

"The kids are guaranteed playing time in this league, there is no weight limit, all of our teams practice at the same time each week" Jennings said. "We don't turn anyone away."

The league is for players in kindergarten through sixth grade and is open to children in all school districts.

Home field for the team is in Liberty Township, with home games at the Niederman farm off of Lesourdsville-West Chester Road. Practices are held at Tri-County Baptist Church on Tylersville Road.

Last year the league gave out $15,000 worth of equipment to players who couldn't afford to buy their own, Jennings said. "Those kids probably would't have played otherwise."

The Lakota Stallion Organization is looking for football players and cheerleaders for the upcoming 2007 season. The league puts an emphasis on Christian values and at the end of each practice each team has a 10-minute talk.

A Christian Character Building Youth Football andCheerleading Organization has received overwhelming community support.

What started out a year ago as a dream of a local grandpa is now a reality with support from parents, youngsters ages 5-12, and local churches, businesses and corporations. As this grandpa watched his grandsonís grow in a local Christian Basketball League, he thought why not football and cheerleading. So the Lakota Stallions Youth Football and Cheerleading was founded.

Today the dream has grown to fielding a team for each grade 1 thru 6, with almost as many cheerleaders as players, along with many helpful parents. Break out sessions at practices will be dedicated to discussions to build character and Christian values. The mission is to give back to the kids and families. Scholarships have been directed to anyone who needs financial help as no child is ever turned away. The first special uniqueness is that the kids keep all equipment and uniforms to enjoy the year round. This keeps the annual cost to $75 per child after the 1st year. Second there isnít any weight limit to play. The most important uniqueness is that each child is guaranteed playing time and the promise to parents is that practices are limited to 2 nights a week once school starts for all grades.

The Tri-County Baptist Church has offered their fields for practices and Bob and Beth Ann Neiderman have offered their farm for home games. They are also building a football field for the Stallions. Other support and donations, just to mention a few, has come from Willies Sports CafÈ, First Watch, The Ordinary Community Church, The Money Learning Center, Crestview Presbyterian Church, the UPS store on 747, Tony Jennings and Associates, and the Berry Company (Yellow Pages). The Chesapeake Grounds Maintenance Co., owned by Joe Toepher, will maintain the home game field on the Neiderman Farm. Renee Jones has volunteered to be the cheerleading coordinator. Renee is the varsity gymnastics coach at Lakota West and comes with years of cheerleading coaching experience.

Thanks to all!

Community support and donations/sponsorships is vital to the success of the Stallions. If you wish to sponsor or donate please call 755-5771, Monday-Thursday. All children who will be in kindergarten thru 6th grade for the 2006 school year are invited to join.

Parents Cite Two Practices Per Week and Guaranteed Playing Time As Top Reasons For Joining Lakota Stallions Youth Football and Cheerleading.

E-mail received last week stated, "Thank you. The Stallions will finally give the kids of West Chester an option which has been needed for years. I am very excited that children will have a great opportunity to play youth football the way it was intended."

"Two practices a week during school and the fact that all players are guaranteed playing time is a much better experience than going to 3-4 weekly practices and then riding the bench during the game", stated another parent. "Only 3 practices per week during August is just another benefit", said a happy mother.

"My son can now play football because of the no weight limit rule", expressed a proud father. The Stallions will never turn away a child because of weight or finances.

One West Chester couple emailed and said, "this program allows plenty of time for school work and other activities. We like that. We looked at all of the FAQ section at the web site, made a decision, and printed the sign up form and mailed it in with a $75 check. It was easy for us."

Donors Step Forward To Reduce Parents Football Equipment and Cheerleading Uniform Cost

One donor will pay for all cheerleading tops. Thanks! Another donor has reduced the football equipment cost by $70 per player. Thanks!  The parents keep and own the equipment to be used each year. The Stallions mission is to reduce the cost as much as possible.

Lakota High School Football Program Now Has Three Youth Football Organizations Feeding Into Both East And West Teams!

Any community would love to have this situation. The more choices for families the better for everyone. The Lakota Stallions and the Outlaws are the two new additions along with the 25 year old Tomahawks. The Stallions compete with communities in and close to Butler County, and the Outlaws compete with communities to the south.

Contrary to what was printed last week, the Lakota School District did not designate any youth football organization the official feeder program. Why would they? It seems like the more young kids playing youth football the better for both high schools. Each organization offers something for every family.

Paying an annual fee that might include registration fee, fund raiser fee, banquet fee and a trophy fee in the amount of $200-$300 per year is nothing more than an equipment rental charge. In the short term of just a couple of years this is very expensive. Each year parents return equipment. Next season a large fee is again paid with nothing to show for it.

The Stallions want to make sure everyone gets value. In the players first year, parents purchase the equipment that will last years and they own all the equipment. Don’t think the equipment rental organizations buy all new equipment each year, they don’t. When a player leaves the program the parents can sell their equipment on the Stallion web site to new members.

Riddell has agreed to give the Stallions a 15% discount on the equipment. The first year net equipment cost is about $325 plus the $75 registration. Next season only the registration is paid. Riddell has also agreed to take credit cards so parents can pay over time if they wish. Riddell says charges will not show on card till May or June.

It is the long term mission of the Stallions to receive donations, gifts and grants to pay for most or all equipment. Depending on amounts received this year we could see some of the equipment cost reduced and rebates given equally to the parents at the end of the season. Of course, no guarantee for this first year rebates.

It has been mentioned that some local high school coaches would like to see unlimited weight for youth football in all grades. The Lakota Stallions have addressed this and will be a member of the Butler County Youth Football League, which has unlimited weight for all grades K-6.

The Stallions boast they will never turn away any child that wants to play football nor ever have a draft, and that’s just what no weight limit means. The Stallions will never turn away a child because a team reaches it’s limit of players.  All that want to play, can play Stallion football.

All three organizations should want to teach the winning spirit and the lessons to be learned from a loss. The Stallions follow this principle of balancing the spirit of winning so as not to win at all costs.

Practice time is very important for players to learn excellent football and life skills. Too much time practicing can burn out young players to the point they don’t really have fun and get turned off on this great sport of football and never enjoy football in high school.

There isn’t any good reason for kids to practice 3-4 nights a week during school or 5-6 nights per week during August. When this happens it is because the coach puts too much emphasis on winning or is reliving his playing days. How is that good for these young players? School work also suffers.

The Stallions will practice a maximum of 3 practices in August per week and only 2 practices a week when school starts. School work should never suffer because of practice.

The goal of the Stallions is to have at least 22 players on each team so that 11 will play defense and the other 11 will play offence so that each 11 can devote the entire practice to offence and defense.

Many families are two income earner families and the last thing they want are fund raisers, too many practices, banquets, and then have to work concessions for home games.

The Stallions will not have fund raisers and likewise will not have parents working concessions. The Stallions are a parent and child friendly organization.

Since this is the first season, the Stallions will offer a personal walk up sign up the day before the NFL Super Bowl, Sat, Feb. 4th 10:00am-noon, at Meijers in the food court. Come meet and ask questions.

Mail in the E-Z Form in this weeks ad. Both online and E-Z forms close March 11th, 2006.

The other organizations only offer non-personal online sign ups. Pick what is best for you.

Coaches are very important to the success of each player and team. Each Stallion coach will be certified by the National Youth Sport Coaches Association and must supply a National F.B.I. Background Check before they can coach.

It would be ideal if all three organizations would work together with the school and parks to secure more football practice and game fields.

Please see the half page ad on the Lakota Stallions for more info. If you feel you want your child to play Stallion football or cheerlead with the Stallions and be part of a fun and exciting new organization, please join us.
